Dolmens in Yongil 1

This huge and unique dolmen looks like the shield, is located in moonsongdong, kikyemyon, yongil (says like Young-eel), korea. About 5m long, 2.5m wide, 3m high flat rock is standing up in the field, facing to the east. No one has excavated yet, but villagers have taken care of it from old times. They have been performing religious service every year, facing to the north, on the south side of it, in there they have strewn the ground with the sands of yellow earth, and planted young pine tree. They said the yellow earth and the live twig of pine tree exorcize evil spirits.
No more than 20 dolmens with this one are standing here and there, not far away from this, in a long and wide valley kikyemyon. The river kikye ( kikyechon ) flows in the midst of the valley to the east-south side. Most of dolmens are on the hillside or in the field, in the front of Mt. Ore.

Some rocks in the rice field are believed as were dolmens, but must be destroyed now, they are located in eenbeedong, across the river Kikye, far away from the dolmen in the moonsongdong. The figures of bronze dagger and arrowhead have been carved on the south side of the rock which is one of them.
