Stone Rows in ChongDo
Village ChongDo in Korea, 30 Km away from Taegu to the south, is surrounded by moutains and river, in which primitive people's favorite residence. There are 39 rocks in couple of rows on the slope, which measures 1 ~ 2m high, 2 ~ 3m wide in each. All of them are supposed be dolmen of coverstone style, which is one of 3 typical dolmen style in korea.
The rows of rocks are on the line of north-west and south-east,
which runs parallel to the river and the line of opposite mountains.
Bird's eye view of rocks, which are on the small cutstones,
show a rectangle join the another rectangle, and which looks like
the corner stones of building and corridor. But there are irregular
stones, not flat. It could be thought as a 'passage grave',
but there are no slabs, and space of rows, 3 ~ 4m, are too far to
cover with stones. Another supposition is that could be corner
stones or foundation stones. Nobody knows when, who, why it be made yet.
