Colonial Period
History of Korea
The Colonial Period officially began in 1910 when Korea was annexed by Japan.
This was a time when Korea was under Japanese rule until the end of the Second
World War. Usually the Colonial Period is divided into three phases:
The First Phase of Colonial Rule (1910-1919)
Cultural Policy (1919-1931)
Manchurian Invasion to Liberation (1931-1945)
